Koroni

Koroni has a population of about 1700 residents and is located at the southwestern coast of the Messinian peninsula, 52 km southwest of Kalamata.

At the peak of the hill where its Venetian castle lies is a beautiful graphic town well known for its tiled small streets, homes with ceramic roofs and wooden balconies.  Koroni has wonderful beaches with pure clean waters, some with light sand and others with pebbles.  You can find many traditional taverns and ouzeri as well as graphic shops at its port, making you believe that you are on an island.  Of the most well known beaches of Koroni:  Kolonides beach with light sand and many trees, Peroulia beach with light golden sand, Gargarou with pebbles, the beach at the Koroni Castle with pebbles and rocks, Zaga, Memi and Kalamaki beaches.
